Well we still haven't made the soap. The plan was to do so during Christmas with everybody. We made the order, and the company came back a couple days later and said the lye would be out of stock until past the new year. At that time it was to close to Christmas to get it shipped from anywhere else.

It is pretty frustrating how exciting gardening sounds during the winter. On the flipside, skiing sounds like the greatest thing ever during the summer!

The more I learn about making soap, the more nervous I am getting. It seems simple enough, but there is a lot to it.

@Alli - You have got to try it! After using a kit, there isn't a whole lot more to learn.

Right now the plan is to make the soap over Christmas time with my sisters. Hopefully it goes well! Thanks for commenting.

I have made beer from pre bought kits and that has turned out really well but never from scratch, maybe one day! I look forward to hearing hoe the soap turns out.
